[ANNOUNCMENT] 15 to 21 May 2005

Hello all,

1. BIBLE READING - Please finish up the Gospel of Matthew and Mark if you have not done so.

2. MEMORY Verse - Proverbs 3:5-6. When you bump into any problems in life, or when you do not understand why certain problems or "bad things" must happen in your life, always trust in the Lord... not trust a little bit, but trust FULLY that He will lead and guide you through it all. You will need to have faith in Him and remember that "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1).

3. FEVER 05 PRAYER CONCERT - This will be held on 20 May 05 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm in COOS. Attendance is not compulsory, but it will be good if you can attend. Not only you will meet get to meet and make friends with youths from other churches as well, you will have the opportunity to pray as a body of Christ for East Timor, to be touched by God, and be motivated to reach out and be a blessing to the people in East Timor. If you are coming, meet me at UR ADMIN COUNTER at 7pm SHARP. Once the doors to the Auditorium are opened, I'll be going in and won't be waiting for latecomers.

4. RADIATE YOUTH CAMP (13 tp 16 Jun 05 @ NUS Temasek Hall) - Forms for the youth camp are available at the UR admin counter. Fees is $55 per head ($50 if you sign up by 22 May). Closing date is 29 May. One thing for sure, you will get to meet and know many other UR youths who will also be taking care of you. From what I know, for all the past camps, those who attended, had been touched by the Lord and were greatly blessed. The last youth camp I attended in 1990 was no different - God was there throughout. And I believe He will be moving in the midst of this year's camp. So, if you are not going for overseas holidays, don't miss out the opportunity - go and sign up!

5. FESTIVAL OF PRAISE 2005 - This will be held on 5 to 7 AUGUST 2005 at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Hillsong Australia and Delirious will be leading the praise and worship, while Rev Colin Dye from Kensington Temple (UK) will be ministering the Word of God. Do go with your family or your friends, and be blessed !

6. PRAYER POINTERS FOR EAST TIMOR - East Timor will turn 3 on 20 May 2005. Please read the letter below from Kai Loon, a UrbanRace youth leader, and start praying for East Timor during your quiet time. We will start praying for East Timor during our weekly cell group sessions, starting 21 May.

East Timor Prayer Letter (May 05)

9th August, a significant moment way back in 1965; the humble beginning of Asia's little dot. In our primary school days we used to sing "There was a time where people say S'pore couldn't make it but we did….." in our music classes. From fishing village to commercial hub, an awesome 40 years journey.

20th May 2005 marks the 3rd year of independence for East Timor, she is in the exact situation where we first started; all by ourselves with no economic, industrialization, defense, infra-structure and etc. Where Singapore is today within a short 40 years is truly a miracle. What about East Timor? A nation in the making.

"Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession" Psalms 2:8

Pray: Intercede for East Timor for its rebuilding journey, remember her in your prayers, ask the Lord of the nations to shape and mould her future.

How can we reach out to East Timor as a nation?
1. Love Timor village by village, Churches to adopt different villages.
2. Be a Nehemiah.

Nehemiah means comforter
Nehemiah fasts and pray
Nehemiah surveys the city: Explore their needs
Nehemiah inspires and involves others in the task: Lets inspire one another, sign up for a trip too.
Nehemiah faces warfare: Be bold
Nehemiah cares for the poor
Nehemiah is a revivalist
Nehemiah finishes well

1. Love Singapore Leadership
- Plans and strategies for this long term mission and commitment
- Strategies for this year Fever 05 mass outreach.
- Common heartbeat and vision among Church leaders
- Windows of opportunities
- Favour from local authorities

2. East Timor Government
- Working hand in hand with Love Singapore network
- Supportive of Love Singapore’s vision.

3. Local Churches
- Commitment to pray for East Timor in prayer meetings and cell groups
- FEVER 05 Prayer meeting 20/05/2005 at COOS
- To adopt villages and will continue to reach out to them beyond 2005
- Send out mission teams regularly to East Timor

4. Yourself
- Remember East Timor in your prayers
- Stay faithful to your commitments to East Timor
- Sign up for a Fever 05 trip, start saving for it,
- Stay fervent
